Vince DiMartino is one of the most sought after trumpet performers and educators. Since graduating from The Eastman School of Music in 1972, professor DiMartino had taught at the University of Kentucky until 1993. At that time, Mr. DiMartino began a new appointment as Distinguished Artist in residence at Centre College in Danville, Kentucky. He retired in 2012 from his position as W. George Matton Professor of Music at Centre College where he taught trumpet, brass and jazz ensembles, and jazz history.
He has served twice as President and Vice President of The International Trumpet Guild as well as a member of its Board of Directors for two terms. He has made over a dozen solo appearances at The International Trumpet Guild Conferences as a principal performing artist.
Vince DiMartino is the recipient of The Governor’s Lifetime Achievement Award in 2007-2008 for the State of Kentucky and The Case Kentucky Professor of the Year Award in 2004.
He continues to perform throughout the world as a trumpet soloist with orchestras, bands, and jazz ensembles. DiMartino has been a soloist with The Boston Pops, The United States Marine Band, The Cincinnati Pops and many other major orchestras throughout the United States and performed with over 200 university and college ensembles.
Mr. DiMartino is a Shires Trumpet Artist and performs on Pickett Brass Mouthpieces.
